The Schrade large ferro rod is a great tool that works in all weather conditions, it will throw sparks of over 3000℃ even when completely wet. It includes a heavy duty striker plate and can also be struck by any knife with a 90º spine. Just combine your sparks with a dry tinder source and you will have a roaring fire in no time.
